DC to DC Charger - Convenient Source for D+ Voltage
I'll be installing a DC to DC charger which requires a connection to the D+ voltage on my 2005 E350 (V10) so that it can sense when the engine is running. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion as to the easiest and most accessible place to tap into this.

It could change by vehicle, so you really need to track down by yours. For my 2004 V10 central junction box fuse F2.12 is hot when the engine is in run. A fuse tap works pretty well here.
You can also tap into wire at the ignition switch connector in the steering column. This is commonly where SMB connects with a fuse.

Thanks, Greg, that's leading me in the right direction. My #12 is labeled "Back-up lamps, Auxiliary battery relay (gasoline engine only), Trailer tow relay", which makes sense, but I'll check it with my multimeter to be sure.
