Defrost adjustment knob not working

The little dial where I would adjust vent/floor/defrost/ etc is suddenly not working, any thoughts on why this might be?
Thanks,
C.

Re: Defrost adjustment knob not working

How are your brakes working? When my vacuum pump failed, the ventilation system was wiggy, too. I think the vents use vacuum to operate.

Brakes seem to be working fine.

Re: Defrost adjustment knob not working

Not sure if this describes your situation but this is what happened to me and how I fixed* it: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...hp?f=2&t=12582.

*: seemed to work as expected for the first couple months after the fix but I'm noticing that when I accelerate it is again sometimes switching to the dash/defrost vents. Haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it again.

Re: Defrost adjustment knob not working

If your vacuum pump is good (good braking) then check the rubber hoses for the vent mechanisms.

Most likely a rodent has eaten one of your vacuum lines.

Re: Defrost adjustment knob not working

Could also be the knob itself. Had to replace mine four weeks ago... But check the vacuum hose before to check that there is no leak.
