Did you know, Ford has a 225-amp Alternator for the V10 ?

As you might have figured out I'm looking around for a bigger alternator for my van, I'm planning on adding two batteries along the frame rail...

I came across this info. The ambulance prep package has a 225- amp alternator.
Would this require any other parts to install like bigger wiring, belt or brackets?

And does anyone have the Part number for it?

" Alternator — 225-amp (6.8L V10 engine only)"

I saw that info here: http://assets.forddirect.fordvehicle...D4CA7892D4.pdf

Just a guess but considering I got a 340A in the same size case for my van I'd think they would be the same size. If that was offered when I purchased my van, I would have had Ford install one so the warrantee would not have been affected. Sounds like a call to Ford would clear it up.

I think the 195 amp comes standard from Sportsmobile on the Ford Vans. Have never seen them offer a 225.

Earlier SMB's used isolators then they switched to Surepower 200A models. With SMB having troubles with the Surepower products they switched to the 500Amp Blue Sea 7622 magnetic charge relays. Mine was installed a year or so ago but SMB might be using a different product now.
