Re: Dome Lights Override

Here is the Ford wiring & explanation of how to do this for RV installers.
https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q92.pdf
https://www.fleet.ford.com/TRUCKBBAS/no ... 47-348.pdf

Search each document for F6UB-14335-A. That will show you 3 wires on the B pillar that are their for what you are trying to do. If you read page 3 of the first link in detail, it should be easy.

This is exactly what I needed, no way I would have found this without your help, I really can't thank you enough. Hopefully this will help others as well

Thanks SheepShagger!

Glad I could help. I've been pondering over the PTO & accessory wiring for weeks trying to sort out different things on the van, (High idle switch for battery charging / Clean Tach signal for alarm & turbo cool down, different powers from the accessory options in the standard fuse panel etc etc). When I read your post I remembered I had seen something about it, so it was easy to find again since I had the bookmarks. But it took a LONG time to find those wiring diagrams in the beginning. But they have been a godsend. There is a lot of useful info on that site, but getting to it is hard.

Does anyone have an updated link? Would like to do this mod, but the links are dead. Thanks.

I did a down and dirty the other day. Those little plunger buttons on the doors are what activates the lights. I removed and clipped the one on my barn doors. That way I have at least one exit that won't trip all the lights when I open it. Ideally I would like to put an overide swtich on it as those buttons also tell you if you forgot to close a door when you lock up with the key fob and my kids are famous for leaving doors open. LOL.

I may put override switches on the rear door and barn doors. The button is simply continuity. So when open it sends the charge to the relay, when closed and depressed, no charge. Clipping it made the van see no charge on that door no matter what. I just don't want the lights coming on all the time when we are camping and going in and out and then having to wait or relock the doors to get it to shut off, then it honks too.
