The cruise control on my 2005 E350 worked when I bought in July and stopped working after a few short drives. It's a wheelchair van and the driver at the senior center I bought it from said he never used the cruise control (they had it for three years). The horn works. I tore my rotator cuff so haven't driven it much or been able trouble shoot it yet.

As far as the "parts cannon" approach goes, the pressure switch was cheap enough that I ordered one, "just in case". I figure if it isn't the problem I'll have it for the future.

Just thought I would bump this thread. I just had to install another new safety switch on my master cylinder after my cruise control started acting up. Pretty easy fix, but it's in an awkward place to reach and most of the brake fluid drained out onto the driveway before I could get the new one screwed in. My existing wiring connector worked with the new switch. You have to press on one side of the connector to remove it from the switch. Also, the switch needs a 7/8" wrench to unscrew it. No teflon tape or anything, just screw it in and tighten it up.

^^^There is a bit of thread locker pre-applied to the tapered pipe threads where that switch screws into the master cylinder.

To anyone looking at this thread since it was first posted please know the diesel engines have their own components setting them apart from the gasoline engine versions. From the steering wheel and its switches and the clock spring would be familar parts but chances are not carry the same part numbers.

Diesel engines VSC are enabled and actuated via the PCM. The cable pulled throttle cable and servo are not part of that system. Consult an EVTM for those schematics etc

I'm sorry I didn't pay closer attention to the fuel type so long ago. Hope I didn't lead anyone down the wrong path.
