Count me among those interested in an LED swap----'twould be nice if it's just plug-n-play!

Re: exterior led bulb replacements (brake, runners, & blinke
If they' only offer full LED tails for the 92-94 vans with amber turn signals I'd be in too. We need to have rear amber turn signals here. Right now, I have amber LED bulbs in the stock reverse chambers und LED reverse lamps below the rear bumber. I think of converting to 92-94 style rear lights, but rather have those in full LED.

Re: exterior led bulb replacements (brake, runners, & blinke
That's what I'm running in the front (no amber parking lights allowed here) and I used the same in the rear of my RAM before. I hesitated to change the bulb socket in the 250 so far since there are the stock tail lights with amber turn signals avail. Right now I run amber LED bulbs in the stock reverse lights as turn signals.

stopped by the auto parts store to pick up a replacement bulb and found a set of the led ones for sale. said wth and picked them up. led bulb on right, conventional on left.
cant really say i can see a difference between the two. maybe at night?? will try and get another photo when its dark out.

Re: exterior led bulb replacements (brake, runners, & blinke
I think the led one looks " fuller".
I just received some in the mail and will put them in tomorrow .

Re: exterior led bulb replacements (brake, runners, & blinke
the "fuller" look is an illusion from the reflector. if i had taken the pic knelt down, it would look different. as i moved, the hot spots would move in both lights. the bulbs also caused erratic blinking. mine are coming out too, lol. appreciate the input reelchef67

Re: exterior led bulb replacements (brake, runners, & blinke
When I swapped LED lamps for the incandescents in my Bronco, I changed out the old thermal based flasher unit for an electronic one. No issues with erratic, rapid flashing. Not sure if the older vans use thermal flashers, but you might want to investigate. Other people install a resistor inline with the flasher circuit. Since LED lamps use a lot less current, many flasher units think the bulb is burned out and that's why you get a very fast flash rate.
