general electric

I have several questions relating to the same thing.

will two 27 g batteries plus the inverter power.

1. the available 3 gallon electric water heater.
2. the microwave.
3 the microwave/oven
4.
the available electric coffee maker.
5. danhard a/c realisticy long?

second set relating to above.

will the 2000 watt honda generator power
3 gallon electric water heater
the micowave
the micowave/convection oven.

has sportsmobile solved the inverter/honda generator starting and running issues of danhard A?C.

I ask this because certain sportsmoile locations seem knowledgable about this and other not.

last question.

does anyone use the yamaha 2000 instead of honda 2000 with the danhard a/c and inverter.

thanks

Re: general electric

Whew

Finally figured that out

1) I am a Yamaha 2400 guy w/ Polar Cub roof air 9500 btu

2) microwave and coffee maker & water heater
need wattage and use periods for me to figure it out

3) two group 27's is 200 amp hours
how are you charging them?

my gut:
batteries ok to make coffee and heat food
prob ok w/ water heater, be sure to turn it off, one shower daily

anyone else?

Re: general electric

bill,

although I appreciate the response, all the items listed are sportsmobile listed options on
their build sheets.

I will be getting the danhard AC because of condo restrictions.

I am looking for someone who has actually ordered these items from sportsmobile.

I was looking at polar cub 9200 ac when i was looking at truck campers it will run with honda 2000.

Re: general electric

Gerry I don't have the Danhard but from older posts I don't think the problem was with the batteries as much as it had to do with starting the AC. If I remember correctly, this had to do with running the unit while driving. Greg in Austin would be the best to PM about this and he did make several post about his new Danhard. Pretty sure he is running twin 4-D house batteries. Obviously a larger generator like the 2400 w BW is running would help. But running the Danhard on battery power requires a large house battery system if you plan to run on "battery only" (no shore power) and even a large battery like a single 4-D battery won't last too long. There are some issues about startup using the standard inverter as well. You might search "Danhard" in the site search engine but Greg would be the best to contact.
Good luck.

Re: general electric

Gerry,
I have on 4D battery, when using a coffee pot (this is not the one sportsmobile sells, but a 8 cup thermal carafe only uses power while making coffee) it will deplete my battery 10% or 1/5 of my usable power. see attached pdf for details. That should give you a ball park of typical power usage,

If I get a chance I will collect some data on the microwave and water heater.
