Generator

I have a diesel van and on my road trip the generator stopped working. When it started dying it would start up them within a few seconds die. It did this 2 times and on the third time it wouldn't even start. Any ideas?

Dirty fuel filter? Air leak in fuel system?

Re: Generator

Fuel filter is a good guess. Also, I'm guessing the fuel pick up should be around the 1/4 tank level (so your genset runs out of fuel before the engine). I always start with the simplest solution when trouble shooting... got a full tank of fuel?

Re: Generator

I did run my gas tank down low when this problem started. Since then I have filled up on fuel and still nothing I have also noticed that the toggle swith used to start the generator in the van has a green light on it that is now flashing.

Re: Generator

Maybe need to bleed air from the system. Owners manual would probably explain the flashing light. (And the bleeding procedure).
