Hella Rallye 4000's on Aluminess (2007 or earlier)

I just ordered Aluminess bumpers to replace my rusted out Road Armor front bumper and Reunel rear bumper, and wondering a little about mounting 4000's on top of the front Aluminess bumper. I sent Kenny an email but it is the long weekend.

It looks like you have to mount them way to the side, almost behind the vertical bit of the brush bar, in order to clear the winch box cover.

How does this work out? Issues with beam pattern? Issues with removing winch cover?

I saw one picture where a guy had Aluminess add an extra cross bar at the bottom of the grill to mount lights on.....

Another option is compact 4000's I guess (which I use on my other rig, and they're great!).

I have 2 sets of Rallye 4000 HIDs kicking around (one from a previous rig, one from the Road Armor install), so would like to use at least some of them...

Anyone have closeup pics of both where the foot of the light fits relative to the winch box cover and also how it fits in/behind the brush bar? Easy to get covers on/off? Beam obscured much?

Here is a picture of my lights. Sorry the shadows don't show the winch box very clearly, but I think you can tell that the lights just barely clear the box lid. Also, as you can see, the Hella lights are partially (about 1") covered behind the bar. This is no big deal to me.

I have those but if you have HID's why would you want to use the halogen? Are the HID's larger? After going LED, I don't really need those except they throw a long distance beam out. I never found that useful unless driving on a flat straight road. The door just fits with these lights and the pattern is not affected.

I wrote about it here and there is a picture of the winch with the door off at that site.

CellularSteve and I both run Lightforce mounted in different configurations. They're ...big, and I haven't been able to justify the cost of beam covers yet. The problem with my PIAA mount is the aluminum tube is not the same diameter of the steel offroad products they were made for.
