Honda Generator Questions

I didn't find a thread discussing this, but it wouldnt' be the first time I missed something. Thinking about a Honda 2000 generator. First off, how do you wire the generator to power the van? Do you just plug it into the shore power plug or is there a better way? Second, do you remove the generator when running it (I assume the vibrations/noise/exhaust/heat would be a bit much if still housed on the Aluminess swing arm)? Not running an A/C unit, so I suspect the 2000i is all the genreator I'd need to power the microwave and a TV at night, but if the 3000 is more in order, please advise. Thanks.

You'll just use the shore power cable/plug that comes w/ ythe van and plug it into the generator. As quiet as they are I'd still put it a little ways away from the van and definitely out of the Aluminess Box.

You should be more than fine w/ the 2000 especially if you're not using Starcool.

I only needed a generator for keeping the big battery topped off for the fridge/lights/fan so I opted for the smaller and even a tad quieter Yamaha 1000. Only used it once so far and a big thumbs up.

I've got the Honda 2000 and use it in a similar way. It has served me very well on several camping trips. On the low power setting, it is very quiet and can top off the batteries in about 2 hours and run for 12+ hours on one gallon of gas. These little generators are great products.

We have been using a Honda 2000 for tailgating prior to being SMB owners, and the 2000 is a solid generator.

Now that we have a SMB in the driveway we expect to be using the 2000 in some different ways.

We have a Prosine 2.0 inverter and a Danhard AC. These two will work with the 2000 to be able to provide ait conditioning anywhere we need it for as long as we have fuel. We have not had this setup used in the field yet, but in the driveway it has worked flawlessly.
