Re: "hot skin" when plugged in

I had an electrician stop by and test my outlets, most had an open ground, not surprising because my house is 60 years old. He found one plug that read normal and I tried plugging in there. Everything seemed great, I took off my shoes and felt the handle, no charge (safety third).

But I just went outside to check on it and my carbon monoxide alarm was going off. Last time it was my smoke alarm. Now I'm worried I've fried something?

Re: "hot skin" when plugged in

Also make sure you are turning off your breakers in the van before plugging/unplugging from shore power.
Hmm, it sounds like you need to replace your house battery, on top of whatever else is going on. my co2 went off when my house batt was shot, plus you should get more than a day out of just running the fridge. Almost thinking you've got your battery terminals resting on the chassis or batt leads shorting out on the chassis? Check the leads on the house connection.

Re: "hot skin" when plugged in

So I installed a 30 amp rv plug in my garage and it seems to have resolved the hot skin issue. I also replaced the house battery because the old one smelled like sulfur when plugged in. Everything seems good to go but the hard wired smoke alarm randomly started beeping on the last trip, at 2:30 AM, and the fuse is in the box I haven't found yet. Opened the door and it stopped. Hasn't come back on and the only thing running was the fridge. For now I'm going to blame it on my wife's gas. Any ideas?
