Re: I need ignition switched 12V power in the back of the va

I used the Sure Power separator because it will handle 100 A. Which is plenty for a large air compressor.

Fans would pull nowhere near that much.

Re: I need ignition switched 12V power in the back of the va

That's exactly how I was thinking it would work.....house batt, isolator or controller or voltage controlled switch to fan, but I only need a mouse-fart's worth of amperage to power a small fan....the solar controllers and isolators are a bit overkill.

The voltage controlled switch is cool but a little pricey...

I'll probably use a 24V fan for quiet, low air flow operation. I have a large box of misc chassis fans from years of projects.

Re: I need ignition switched 12V power in the back of the va

I am pretty sure that I have the voltage monitor from an old Surepower unit, you could make that work as your voltage monitor, you are welcome to it. The Blue Sea 7610 does have a optional line to drive a status LED, I am not sure about the current capacity, but there is a chance it would handle a relay. The bigger issue, is that it goes into blinking mode when it is in lockout. That would not be good.

If you have a Battery Monitor they will sometimes have extra circuits for alarms, the Xantrex LinkPro has a configurable relay to open or close at a set voltage. I use this for a automatic low power disconnect.

No such thing. It's either killed or not.

That's from one of the upfitter plugs if I remember correctly. I have a couple of spare upfitter pigtails I think (not sure if that one).

I posted about the pinouts - search for "upfitter" or "up-fitter".
