Ideas on pinpoint or flood LED bulbs?

Question is, I know a billion of these on Ebay and everywhere else are cheap made Chinese junk, but still pricey little suckers. Anyone got a line on fairly good ones at decent prices? I'm primarily looking for some to replace my porch light bulbs with, that will put out some brighter light than the lousy OEM incandescent bulbs. Here's a REALLY lousy pic of what I have, and they are up high so I might need some pinpoint one's reflected down, just to bring the light down lower.

Have you tried a LED replacement?

Not yet, that's what I'm looking for- ideas on led replacements. There are so many to choose from, I'm wondering what's good and what's bad.

Re: Ideas on pinpoint or flood LED bulbs?

The first thing you need to know is what size/shape/wattage and type of base is in there now.
That will eliminate many of the choices you have found.
With LEDs you might need to decide the color/temperature range you want as well.

http://autolumination.com/colors.htm

I have been replacing my bulbs with LEDs and have bought all of them on Amazon, but check for reviews as some are not rated well.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_ ... aps%2C1089

The technology is changing daily and the prices are all over the place.
Some bulbs are much more directional and others are more like a normal bulb.
Fitment can be a problem, the bulbs I bought for my license plate light were too long and the ones I bought for my third/high mounted brake light were too big in diameter to fit into the hole so I had to get different ones.

The dome light bulbs I bought to replace the Ford bulbs are very blue and had to be rotated until they were aimed to the best light. I also added three round LED ceiling lights (maybe the same as you CCV ones?) that are more white/yellow.
Both are fine at night but neither one has as much fill as a regular bulb in the early evening hours or on rainy days.

Since those lights are a camping type light you might check some rv camping sites.

I use these in my porch light, over a year now, no problems, BRIGHT and WHITE (white color like a Sylvania SilverStar Ultra headlight bulb)

Very cool info, thanks to both of you, I like that swivel style, but not the price!

Re: Ideas on pinpoint or flood LED bulbs?

I've been going through the bulb swapping as well. I had some sealed beam work lights on both sides that I replaced with Hell Micro FF driving lights that take H3 bulbs. They also come in a (pricey) LED variant which may be worth considering. For bulbs I've tried these two:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WWQLQM/ref ... 1_ST1_dp_2

http://www.amazon.com/Pair-39x-Light-Bu ... b+White+DR

The former is considerably cheaper, produces about the same amount of light and is perhaps a smidgen more blue. Neither are particularly white or bright. I'm still looking for something better. I can live with the amount of light, but dinner by a blue light is far from perfect.

For interior lights (I have a bunch of spots that take 1159 bulbs) I recently got and am very happy with these:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006V4WNWM/ref ... T1_3p_dp_1

They are fairly bright and the color is not only non-blue, but pretty close to warm.

They are however wired oddly in addition to being 1158 dual pole bulbs. As far as I could tell they were wired only to the two poles on the tip. Once I figured out how to get the base off, they were however pretty simple to modify. Again, I'm very happy with the light they produce.
