Ipod connector

I am in the process of wiring in my Pioneer stereo to the van. It has a 30 pin cable to hook up to an Ipod/pad/phone.

I would like to attach this cable to some sort of dash hard mount for cleanliness and just use a short cable from the dash to the devise. Is there some type of plug for this?

I'm guessing what you are meaning is that it has a plug on the back of the unit with a cable to an iPod/iPhone/iPad? I had one like that once I think. If I remember right I just drilled a small hole in the dash to bring the cable out right where I had a holster/dash mount so it looked tidy. The extra cable could be pulled out of the dash if I needed more and then fed back in. Of course, this requires putting a hole in your dash the size of the smallest end of the cable, which still may be a big hole. Other than just running it out from under your dash to where you want to mount it I think your options are few.

That is what I have been coming up with. I was just trying to be more tidy around the console

That is a usb connector. What I am looking for is the 30 pin apple connector made as a connector just like the one you pictured. From the rear of the Pioneer stereo is a 6' tether to hook up an Ipad/pod/phone.
I use it with an Ipod classic for music and movies. The remote for the Pioneer 4300dvd controls the Ipod when connected.

Gotcha, I was thinking it was a USB on the stereo side.
A dock extender like this might work to get it through the dash, it would likely need to be glued in to hold it in place. Then you would just need an extension cable for outside the dash like this.
Although 30-pin connectors seem to be going away, you may not want to make it permanent.
