Re: Isotherm fridge

Those of us who ordered an Isotherm Refrigerator with an ASU and had SMB West install it, it is unlikely they secured the ASU unit to the refrigerator with zip ties. So if you find yourself with a fridge that has a functional light when you open the door but the ASU does not have power, nor the refrigerator cools, pull the fridge out and the red ASU box needs to be pressed back into the black control unit. The ASU should then have power.

Solution. Take zip ties. Two in series to make a really long functional one. Place one on each side in the sagittal plain and two in the horizontal plane. One zip tie will wrap around both parts in the horizontal plain. I did it in a rush and did not take pictures. This will prevent the unit from vibrating apart.

SMB said this was done already when requested. I guess they are now offering it as an optional upgrade. Just keep reminding them to zip tie the red ASU box to the control box.

I have seen some elaborate bomber custom fixes to this problem on this forum. All I can say is this forum rocks. I knew exactly the likely cause having read about this issue in the past. I appreciate the insight from all who contribute.

Thanks.

Re: Isotherm fridge

Charlie (Charlie56) had SMB install his Isotherm and they used the zip ties but he still had problems with the ASU rattling loose, especially on washboard roads. Hence my "bullet proof" approach: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3075
