LED interior replacement bulbs

It is a mystery to me why SMB does not use LEDs for interior lighting. I asked many times during the order lead up period... "we're working on that" was my bunk answer.

A good source for replacement 1141 (bayonet mount, single contact) bulbs for the SMB interior lights is: www.dav-electronics.com

The replacements DAV offered put out a great task, or spot light. Not a bright throw like the stock incadescant 1141. Even better, they are good for thousands of hours and draw a fraction of the juice.

FWIW, a quality product made in U.S.A.

Jeff,

I didn't see the 1141, but I'm assuming you're referring to the 1156W and 1157W product on this site? Which did you use? If it's those, I'll buy one of each and report back...

Thanks,

Ken

Here's a cross reference chart for car bulbs.

http://superbrightleds.com/bulb_cross.htm

Also, I can't remember which is which right now, but between the 1156 and 1157, one is single intesity (tail light only) and one is dual (tail & stop) intensity.

Ken,

I went with 1156 as a replacement for the 4 interior spots. They aren't as bright as the incandescents, but I find them easier to read books and maps by.

I've been looking for a way to replace the 1960's technology lighting in the van. Thanks for the link.
