I'm replacing the incandescent and fluorescent bulbs with M4 LED's in my 1998 Ford E250 EB50 SMB. Incandescent were no problem. When I tried to remove the ballast covers on the fluorescent fixtures, I found the cover and the fixture are actually one piece. Evidently, when the ballast goes, you have to remove the entire fixture (?!?). In order to bypass the ballast, I just had to have the fixture switch in the off position. Now, I'll have to cut wires upstream from the switch, so I'll need to cut power to the system.
Problem: I cannot, for the life of me, find the 12V main breaker switch. The SMB manual I downloaded from someone here, I think, shows where it is, but the b&w picture is so dark and fuzzy, I can't make it out. I emailed SMB West and they sent me the oldest manual they have, 2004. I checked it out and, sure enough, it has the exact same terrible photograph.
Based on the photo and description, the 12V breaker should be under the rear bench seat, passenger side in the back. I cannot find it. Suggestions?
Side note: Do you think they could make it any more difficult to work under that seat?
Thank you.
