Herb, I think he means in his actual GPS unit. That's one of the reasons why i buy my cards from Freedom Maps. Im worried i'll spend $100+ and the dang thing won't even work.

That's the right site Herb, but right below those little maps, there is something you can click on that sez something like download a sample. I click on it and get a file (or something) downloaded to my desktop. I just can't open it. Maybe I have to put in on an SD card and into my GPS? I thot that with my Lowrance Map Create 7 software I could open it on my computer. Don't have my GPS as it's in the van and that's at Ford.
Sigh....

Sorry, still not seeing the sample download link. I must be having a senior moment.

I'd hate to download the full topo package at 151MB, that's for sure.

Hummm, if anyone should be having a senior moment, it would be me. But, for once it's not!! The little link is right under the four little map examples. You have a Lowrance GPS Herb? Maybe you have to own one before the link will appear.
I sure hear you about the 151MB download. At my satelitte download speed it would tie up my computer for a day or two. Plus your sending $200 to a site with no phone number, address or any way of contacting them. I'll wait to see how deminimis likes the maps he ordered.

Ahh, now I see said the blind man.

I was looking at the MexicoMaps.com site, and not the bicimapas.com.mx site. Going to that second site, I see the Download a Sample link. The format of the download is a *.lcm file, which nothing I have will recognize. I guess you're right, you have to be in the Lowrance club to see the sample.

Fiberglass vs metal hood...

So when we attach a magnet to our hood (which we do frequently), is it finding the framework underneath to adhere to?
