Magnum settings have me easily confused

I have a Magnum 2000w charger/inverter with the remote panel. When on shore charge, it will not float over 13.2 nor do I see going into absorb. Often it will just state FULL CHARGE and the voltage only reads in the 12.7 to 12.4 range. I can get to absorb phase and 14.4 if I shut it off for a day or two then turn on the power again.

I think Magnum thinks lower voltage is better for battery life??? Lifeline 4D AGM and they call for the 13.8 float charge. Thinking the lack of higher charge will shorten the life on this battery. It does seem to lose more charge overnight with only a fridge and sometimes the furnace running.

How can I adjust the charging profile to get the higher voltage? Tripp Lite in old van had no problem giving the higher charge. Puzzled.

Actually the Magnum Inverters are very programable. First I would check your lifeline information as I would disagree with the float being 13.8 volts. That said Magnum supports 2 AGM profiles:

AGM 1 - 14.3 Absorption 13.1 Float ( this they say generally supports Lifeline)

AGM 2 - 14.5 Absorption 13.5 Float

I see lifeline at 14.3 & 13.3 respectively

You can also actually go into program mode if you wanted to bring the float up.

There are a couple of other settings (actually quite a few)
One being Final Stage , default is "multi" you have the option to set it to "float"
In multi the charger will enter float for 4 hours and if no load turn its self off and monitor the battery "full Charge" if the battery goes below 12.7 it will return to float stage, endlessly as long as their is AC power.

All the charging parameters are in the manual for the remote, so I would check that out. If you have questions, feel free to PM me . It's been a while since I fully programmed a Magnum, but you actually have a lot more control.

Do you have these instructions?

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...nvRYDPGx7z_O-B

Did you go to the lifeline site and get their charging parameters?
I know battleborn has parameters specifically for magnum chargers/inverters.

Thanks Greg and nuts…. I did not know that the charger would shut down. I have seen the instructions but my problem is that I really don’t know what it all means. Will head out to the garage in the morning and adjust my settings.

Thanks, got it solved with that video and did the manual setup. Greg, thanks for helping me understand the process on how the Magnum goes into 'rest' mode.
