My LED Replacement Lights
Thx to John and Dana for their info on LED. I replaced the exterior light, 2 interior spot lights, the 3 rear door festoon bulbs, and the 2 overhead cab dome/map lights. If all those lights are turned on at same time they pull about 6 amps (not measured - educated guess). The LEDs pull about 1.2 amps..... nice!! The lumens output is about the same but the color can be tailored. I went with all cool white if possible because I like it.
I got them all from superbrightleds.com. The part numbers are below and when you go onto the website you'll get a wealth of info as you research. I went with warm white for the rear door festoon bulbs to keep light "softer". I used a less bright festoon middle light because I wanted a "low intimacy light" but even that is too bright. But, the leds I used for the cab dome/map light are perfect for that application so it worked out.
I used a tower LED for the exterior because I just want to plug n' play. The tower simulates a incandescent light bulb in that leds are mounted 360 degrees radially and also front mounted. I got the brightest I could buy.
So, the original light types are:
interior incandescent bulbs for the spotlights are 1141 bulbs - replace with type 1156 BA15 S leds. The exterior light is a 1003 bulb - replace with type 67 or 1156 BA15 S leds. The cab dome/map lights are 194 type wedge bulbs - non-polarized. The rear door lights are festoon bulbs.
For the interior spot lights:
two each 1156-W3X1W 4 watt LED bulb white.
For the rear door festoon lights:
two each outer LEDs warm white 42mm 4210-WWHP6
one each inner LED warm white 42mm 4210-WWHP3
For the cab dome/map lights:
two each WLED-NW5 - natural white wiht 5 little LEDs.
For the exterior light:
one each 1156-CW45-T high power tower cool white LED
