New Lifeline or ?
I need to replace the Lifeline 4D in my 2003 SMB and asking if Lifeline is the best way to go.I've been real happy with the performance of it, but if there are others that work as well or better, I'm interested. Thanks

Re: New Lifeline or ?
I just purchased two new Lifelines. They are a better battery but you need to find someone who can get them at a good cost. Sometimes they are marked up by 50%. I had a guy quote me about 380.00 for each but I had to be a dealer. I would shy away from Universal corp. Concorde's are high quality (part of the Lifeline group) and Deka worked well for me while I had them.

Re: New Lifeline or ?
I'm pretty set on a lifeline and the trick for me is finding the fair prices. I live a couple miles outside of Capitol Reef National Park and no one here to buy from. Any suggestions on where to buy would be great.

Re: New Lifeline or ?
I got two 4D Deka shipped from http://www.ecodirect.com/ for $1090 which I thought was a pretty fair deal. They are a slightly different size from the Lifeline but word is they are good batteries.

Re: New Lifeline or ?

Re: New Lifeline or ?
The Deka batteries preformed well for me. If it were a case of major bucks, I'd be happy with Deka. Just make sure they fit and you have plenty of clearance between the lugs and the bottom of the deck above them. No need for a high amp short. Check the height of the lugs on your Lifeline and read the specs of the new Deka. If they fit you're good to go while saving a few bucks. I still think the Lifeline have a better warrantee.

Re: New Lifeline or ?
Deka seems to be an excellent product. I bought my van already converted but brand new from a Chevy dealer in Kingman, AZ. It had been sitting on the lot for a while in the heat and the two chassis batteries were toast not too long after I got it home. The SMB Deka group 27 is still going strong and it sat in the same conditions.
On the other hand, Lifeline's tech support is refreshingly laid back due to their obvious and well-earned confidence in the toughness of their product (I have an 8D Lifeline in my SMB trailer).
All other things equal, I would go with the Lifeline but both are excellent.
