New trailer plug

I'm wanting to update my trailer plug to have both the 4 pin and 7 pin plugs. I attempted to take my factory 7 plug out but it's hardwired into the plug. The wiring harness goes to two clips/plugs that obviously pulls the proper wiring.

Anyone know the part numbers I need to run the factory dual plug setup that newer trucks are coming equipped with?

Why not just get an adapter…..I keep one of these in the extra gear bag.

I installed a dual type plug on my van last summer using the Hopkins 40975, which is identical to the plug on my F250. I had to cut my wires and use the Hopkins 40985 harness.

I have an adaptor but it doesn't fit very well (kind of loose). Would rather just eliminate the adaptor and get the dual plug hard wired in. I see UJoint do a lot of them.

Thanks! I bought the 40975 thinking I could unplug my factory plug and plug it in. I didn't realize the factory plug was hardwired. I'll take a look at the 40985.

Perfect timing! I need to replace my 7 way that has been smashed under my bumper a few too many times and wanted to put a flush mounted plug in my bumper. I was looking at that 40975 and couldn't understand how I was supposed to attach the wires!... 40985 answers that question!

If you knew how bad I am with electrical, I can assure you, you wouldn't want me around any of your wiring! I do have the tools if you need a spot. How's that baby coming?

Haha, wiring is one thing I'm actually ok at.

Baby showed up a week ago. Got the hospital just in time too!
