No power to outlets?

Our house outlets are not putting out any juice. Does anyone in the Long Beach, Ca. area have a recommendation for a place to take the SMB for a diagnosis/repair?

Re: No power to outlets?

First, make sure the circut breaker is not tripped and is on and then sure the GFCI is not tripped - in that order. There is not much that can go wrong.

Re: No power to outlets?

Had this happen to us this weekend.....checked the fuses...but it was the GFI thingy that was the problem. Flipped the switch or reset it or whatever and bingo we had power.

Re: No power to outlets?

Thanks for the trouble shooting, I should have mentioned that the gfi and breaker have been ruled out. Is there anything other than the inverter I should check?

Re: No power to outlets?

If you have the tripp-lite inverter there are some resetable breakers, that will shut down in there was a overload.
from manual.
"
Resetting Your Inverter/Charger to Restore AC Power
Your Inverter/Charger may cease supplying AC power or DC charging power in order to protect itself from overload or to protect your
electrical system. To restore normal functioning:
Overload Reset: Switch operating mode switch to “DC OFF” and remove some of the connected electrical load (ie: turn off some of the
AC devices drawing power which may have caused the overload of the unit). Wait one minute, then switch operating mode switch back to
either “AUTO/REMOTE” or “CHARGE ONLY.”

Re: No power to outlets?

My Xantrex prosine is similar in operation. The main switch on the inverter itself may have to be reset.

Slightly off topic but another problem I've incountered is the RS-232 port/plug that goes from the inverter to the control panel. At times it might be necessary to plug and un-plug from both the remote and/or the inverter. Inspection of the wire harness is also something that might need to be done if the inverter fails for some reason.
