Re: Outside Lights

I have the LED bulb in the SMB fixture, the question was whether there is a smaller profile fixture, (smaller) than the original.

Re: Outside Lights

It's possible SMB has had different fixtures in the past but the common light used in 2007 was roughly in the neighborhood of 6"x4". They could be ordered in black or white as far as I know.
[edit] My guess is "ambulance style" refers to this one:

I've yet to find a smaller one but there might be something out there.

Re: Outside Lights

Yes, thats what I have and thinking that there is only a small hole actually in the metal, so perhaps I can find a small round light that is not so ugly.....IMHo.....thanks

Re: Outside Lights

Their are numerous smaller LED exterior flush mount lights available thru companies like West Marine , Amazon , Defender Marine etc. most of which are superior to the lighting designed for the RV industry . If you access their web sites I think that you will find some interesting options .

Re: Outside Lights

Nice thing about the motion light by Starlight in my opinion is that it has a blinking little indicator light inside that blinks blue during daylight, green at night, and red if your battery is low. I have people come up to or near the van and see this blinking light wondering if it is some type of camera/alarm! Camping at night I leave it in the monitor mode which blinks green and if anything larger than a dog gets near that side of the van it lights them up with a nice LED bright light. This is also useful if you approach your van at night, no need to fumble around, etc.... I also bet that for anyone leaving their van at home outside in an area of concern, the security of it is well worth the size. I have thought of wiring the other side for one.

Re: Outside Lights

Like he said!

A good guy to order from I found was Jason at PRG (product research gear.com). This guy tests various gear under extreme conditions and seems serious about finding only the best. Met him at the expo in AZ. I know he sells the lights along with other neat stuff.
