Problems with Star Light's LED motion porch light

I was tipped off to this last year by forum member CJ. He had looked at his new LED motion detecting porch light and noticed that the plastic cover that is over the sensors had begun to crack. When he touched it, the window fell to pieces. Well I'm sorry to say mine is doing the same after about a year of exposure to the sun.

For such an expensive light, I expect a longer life than a year. I have yet to call the manufacture but I do know a person that tested the light. He doesn't live in sunny Ca like I do so maybe his has not been subjected to sun like mine.

Anybody else seeing this problem?

A lot of vans at SMB are coming off the line with these...I did make them aware of the problem. Hopefully it was just a bad run and the manufacture has resolved the issue.

Newbie question - where do I disconnect the power to the porch light so I can install my Star LED light?

TIA

I would think it's fused. In the 50 model the panel is under the couch but why not just do it with the switch in the off position?

An update on the lights sensor covers, Starlight sent me the plastic window strips to replace the broken ones for free. Just give them a call. They said it was possibly a poor production run of UV resistant plastics. You do have to pull off the light to replace the strips though.
