Quick One: best route auxiliary light to reg. tail lights?

Hey guys

Finally about to connect my rear LEDs on my bumper.

One “simple” question:
Where do you route the wiring to connect to the regular tail light? Through the rubber on the rear doors? Through the small rubber plug under the van?

Best!

Anyone who could share a pic where his wires go from bumper to the taillights?
Or do you even connect to the trailer wiring?

These are garbage pictures so I'm not sure how much they will help but for my interior build I had to extend the tail light harness, while I was in there I ran new wires back for a trailer 7 way. I went through the floor in the back that had an existing grommet. you can then tie everything back to the crossmembers and frame out to the bumper.

(I think the red circle is roughly where that grommet was but I had already covered it up by then.

I connected mine to the trailer running light circuit by splicing in at the crane rail. This circuit has its own fuse, and in case I lose trailer lights, makes it immediately apparent if it’s a open connection (bumper lights stay on) or a short that blew the fuse (bumper lights go off).
