I found that rear PDL switch so convenient I added one to the side doors too. Sadly using factory components it's about $75 for the switch and pig tail connector but end result was well worth it.

Best news is its a simple splicing into existing PDL wiring without any real major wiring needed.

For what it's worth, I had a funny door locks issue that I originally believed was related to my Viper alarm system. First the locks would not function when the van was running, so in order to open the passenger door to let my wife back in, I had to reach over and pull the door handle.
Next, the power mirror button went out. I took it into Ford and what they found, after testing all the wires, was that I had a short all the way up inside my vanity mirror - the mirror built into the front shades - that is supposed to light up when you open it.
When they disconnected that, all my problems went away and now locks and mirror buttons work perfectly as designed.
It seems there's a wiring bundle that includes the overhead map lights, and each wire has to be tested for a short. They found it by a process of elimination that left the window shade vanity mirror as the culprit.

Thanks Rusty. Since I found the PDL switch in the back it's been working a-ok. But good to know that about the vanity mirror; I have it as well
