Rally 4000 vs 4000 HID lighting

I consider the additional Hella lighting a necessary option for off-road driving/touring. However, the price on the HID setup is...steep.

Anybody here on the SMB forum have the HID setup, or had the chance to compare side-by-side the two Hella 4000s? I've seen the normal 4000s in use and they are impressive enough.

I use a UK HID dive light, which is unbelievable for night diving. The blue cast is easier on the eyes, imo than the normal incandescant lighting, too. I'm just curious how this technology works off-road...

Any feedback would be helpful.

I've always been a fan of the $40 a pair driving lights, but then again I've never had high-end so I might not know what I'm missing.
