Reading Lights parts

I searched and didn't find anything on the forum, so I thought I would post up my search results when looking for parts for the ubiquitous reading lights we all have...

They're made by a company called Progressive Dynamics in Michigan, and they are super responsive. I somehow managed to lose a switch (long story), so emailed them and heard back the next day.. a whopping $0.77 for a switch, and they shipped it the next morning for a couple bucks in postage.

So if you need any parts of these bullet lights (or whatever they are called), contact Darlene:

Re: Reading Lights parts

I've been looking to replace some or all of my lights with something more low profile and LED.
A little pricey but maybe these:

The problem I see with those is that they are recessed. If you take your upper panel apart (that your Progressive Dynamics lights are mounted in), you'll see that it's kind of a T-shaped wooden structure so it would be very difficult to recess lights in. I don't like the sharp corners of my older PD lights in my SMB but no one has hit their head on one yet, including me at 6'2", and the swivel range of them both side to side and outwards makes them a better option in my opinion. I chose to just go with LED bulbs and have had great luck and great light output with these:

If you choose to recess the style you're looking at, please let us know how it works out!

Amen on replacing the original bulbs with LED bulbs. Makes a big difference. And as you said they are very adjustable.
