Removing dash to install switches...help!

Can't find info anywhere. I want to install 2 switches in upper left of dash. I've tried but can't even figure out how to get the dash past the headlight switch. Sooo, before I go and break all kind of s---, thought I'd ask the pros. Can anyone help me w/this process?

To remove the headlight knob there is a small notch on the back side of the knob. You need to use a small screw driver or a pick to depress the tab on the clip towards the rear of the van and at the same pull the knob off. After the knob is off the trim behind the knob just un-threads. As for the dash insert the clips can be stiff so be careful while pulling it off not to break anything.

I am not sure on your year but mine has two screws on the top by the gauges and then about ten clips.

As Ultrasport12 said, just screws around the gauge (can't remember if there are any in the vents), then clips out. Typical Ford clips that will probably break the plastic on at least one lug when removed though.
I also remember having to tilt the steering wheel all the way down and put the gear lever in 1st to get the dam thing out. So make sure your keys are handy when you start pulling on it.

Thanks all- mission accomplished. I have to admit, I probably wouldn't have figured out the headlight switch removal on my own. Furthermore, there were only two clips- one by each vent. I now have two switches installed (after all kinds of cutting of plastic and such) and one mega-loud, wake-your-arse-up horn.

For my '94 it was an easy choice for location...big block of real estate for switches. Behind the dash, however, was a little more challenging.

I have to ask, what did you use for a horn? My family always laughs at how wimpy the horn is in the van.
