Renogy 200 Watt / charger help

i have installed my Renogy 2000 inverter / changer. I then ran and mounter the remote on / off switch. my question.

1. nowhere in the instructions does it say with plug to connect the wire from the remote turn off switch the unit. The end plug looks like a telephone jack. the only two place for that connection is labeled RJ11 and RJ45. which one do I use.

2. once its plugged in. does the unit need have the switch to "ON" and then the wired remote switch controls the "ON / OFF"

I have tried both connections and have tried all positions with "ON / OFF" switch at the unit and I am not able to get the remote to turn off the unit.

any suggestions. I am getting a light on the remote panel.

thanks

RJ11 is a 6 pin connector, using 4 of the 6 connections. RJ45 is a 8 pin connector.

So if the remote is a six pin connector it would go to the RJ11.

I have no more information than you about the unit, but it seams like you have tried all the combinations. When you say "on" what is on? You have two units a charger and a inverter . If you are plugged in I would not expect the remote switch to work, I suspect it is just for the inverter section.
