Do you mean into the bumper?

I don't think that would have a noticeable affect. I have mine mounted deep into the middle of my grill guard, so keep in inconspicuous, and that does not seem to affect the pattern

I've got an inch or so I can move them forward.. If I think it's necessary. Just using the stock holes in the bumper.

I wouldn't go through the trouble if I already had Hella's in there.. But for the reasons CarringB mentioned, LEDs are the way to go now. Another advantage is they are essentially bulletproof. There's no filament to break.

Or glass! I had 3 of 4 cracked lenses on my halogen light array, and that's really what prompted my upgrade to LED.
