Running Battery Cable - Engine Compartment

Anyone see anything wrong with running a battery cable along the front of that plastic flange?

THought is to take the cable from the starter battery forward through that flange by drilling a hole and then skirt it over to the drivers side front corner then down to the firewall and through just above the SJB. I can then just thread it under the door sill up through at the column and along the wall to where my electrical panel will be. Under the van has a different set of issues, this should actually be easier and more direct I think. Split Loom all the way.

I could try to go backwards and under the windshield there, but there's a whole lot more junk in the way heading that direction.

I have no idea if that is the easiest route to your destination, but as long as the wire is well protected I see no reason it wouldn't work. Have you considered running it just under the hood at the top of the firewall, along with the other wires there? In my case, my house battery cable is run under the van along an easy accesable route and made the most sense.

I looked under, and it's no picnic either. I have to cross over the engine or exhaust at some point. Popping through the firewall and following the big wire loom back would be easiest and most protected. There's just an extra bunch of junk right behind the battery and I am always concerned about it sitting on a hot pipe, but this stuff looks like AC anyway.

Thanks for the input arctic!
