Satelite Radio Mount Question

Folks
installing XM radio monday

need some suggestions on where to mount the antenna

i am thinking the forward left hand corner of the aluminess

punch hole in Crusier top, west marine gromet and a big wad of silicone

what say?

Ous is mounted right above the windshield.
Works fine.
Gets blocked only by tall buildings and narrow canyons.

because of my cruiser top, dont think will work
i have heard tale of "satalite shadow"

If you're not averse to making a hole in your roof, that's likely the best spot -- no "shading" of the antenna from the vehicle.

Otherwise, I've seen them mounted on the front bumper and on the front fender, both next to the radio antenna and on the opposite side from the radio antenna.

If you go with any of the front end mounting options, there are plenty of ways to route the wire without having to drill a new hole.
