Scangauge 2 Transmission Temp

Hi All,

We have a Scangauge 2 and I have been trying to get temp for the transmission since we got it. Do I have to do anything special or buy a software or a part? How do you guys get your transmission temp?

Ray

Re: Scangauge 2 Transmission Temp

Ray, the answer is posted elsewhere on the Forum, but in a nutshell, if your gage is less then a year old it's ready to go. You should have received an instruction sheet that will tell you what codes you have to enter into the gage to receive the trans temp. If you don't have the codes, go to the scan gage web site and it's posted there. If your gage is older, you'll need to send it back to scangage for an update. Around $25 I think.

Re: Scangauge 2 Transmission Temp

Thanks Scatter! The SGII is less than a year old since our Rig will have his 1st Birthday in July! Will use the search to see if I can find the topic.

Re: Scangauge 2 Transmission Temp

If you need to add Transmission temperature ability to your Scangauge, the documentation is here on Scangauge's website: http://www.scangauge.com/support/xgauge.shtml, and the Transmission code is listed here: http://www.scangauge.com/support/pdfs/XGAUGE.pdf See the "FORD PWM" category.

Re: Scangauge 2 Transmission Temp

Hi I have used the ScanGauge II for my 1998 Chevy bought at the beginning of 2009 and have added sensors using the same method described on ScanGauge site for the Ford Tranny Temp.

My advice is take the steps slowly, I had to reset the SG II a couple of times 'cause I pressed the buttons too quick

It is a fantastic piece of kit the SG II! Good luck with the setup
