Re: Security System and door locking

I think the alarm comes with a siren. I also got an extra siren that comes with a battery back up, in case the thieves disconnect the battery.

Kinda cool: http://www.compustar.com/products/pro/RF-P1WG4-SS.html

The turbo timer is interesting for PSD's. Compatible with their Smart Phone GPS service apparently: http://www.dronemobile.com

No substitute for cubic dollars

Isn't the chirp gizmo also what sounds the alarm when it goes off?
You're probably right; I was thinking of the factory installed remote entry system, no alarm.

Easy to test if you can find it and it's not inside the alarm box.

Re: Security System and door locking

Seems like a rather obvious feature to be able to silent arm/disarm. I'm pretty sure my Jeep alarm has that feature, selectable from the remote key presses, but then again, it's been a long time since I read the manual.

Mine does have a silent arm and disarm feature however you have to press both the lock and unlock buttons at the exact same time in order for it to work silently. I usually accomplish this with a 50/50 chance of it working right. Of course in the campgrounds it always falls on the failure side of the equation. Would be great to just disarm the chirp altogether.

Re: Security System and door locking

I wonder if you could attach a delay relay circuit to the horn. It might make your alarm sound weird, but a C1 of 50 uf (whatever that is... ) so the chirp would not overcome the delay.

These are mostly to delay radio amps when starting or shutting down, so I wonder if there is a need to discharge the capacitor. Not up on my EE...

as far as i can see the temp sensor is in the main unit. The install manual doesnt show it at all

here is the install manual to my alarm

would be nice to have the sensor seperately. will see if there is something i can do about that
