Should I pull my batteries

I have a 2005 SMB Sprinter and have noticed that my house batteries during cold weather are reading 12.4 +/- after no sun on the panel with in a few days. Because travel will be a bit intermittent and snow likely covering the solar panel should I pull the house batteries and store them in the garage where it is warmer? At our home it is not convient to keep the Sprinter plugged in to shore power full time but I could do it periodically if necessary. thought?

I am by no means an expert on electrical stuff and this our first RV/SMB absolutely love it but now need to brush up on basice maint etc.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Should I pull my batteries

12.4 is excellent, at least with the battery problems I've had! I would monitor and shorepower or travel to charge as necessary. They will drop some from the cold, but I don't see any reason to remove them unless you see them dropping and needing to be charged ever other day- and then you probably have bigger problems.

A better use of time might be putting a switch on anything that draws even a little power- for me it was the propane detector, CO monitor, and panel that reads the voltage (blueSky).

i agree, i think 12.4 is good
agree also with some switches
switches and shore power easier than pulling batteries me thinks

Re: Should I pull my batteries

Thanks for the help.

It is odd thought that when I comes to project in the SMB regardless of what it is I find myself looking forward to it. Probably some new to the game effect but the few adventures we have had as a family have been so good thanks to the SMB.

Hey Kavy,

How about some pics of your rig
BW is supposed to ask, at least that's what I thought we're paying him for.
Hard to get good help these days

Thanks!
