12.4 is excellent, at least with the battery problems I've had! I would monitor and shorepower or travel to charge as necessary. They will drop some from the cold, but I don't see any reason to remove them unless you see them dropping and needing to be charged ever other day- and then you probably have bigger problems.
A better use of time might be putting a switch on anything that draws even a little power- for me it was the propane detector, CO monitor, and panel that reads the voltage (blueSky).
