SOS Murphy at work cant get shore power

Well, here I am an hour or so before we take of on our first voyage, and Murphy has visited.

I was loading the van, checking different electrical modes, and after hooking up to shore power to charge the batteries and cool the fridge, suddenly I get a fault. It says I have lost my neutral connection.

We have a Xantrex RX2000 inverter/charger.

We have been hooked to shore power numerous times over the last week with no issues.

The main breaker was off when I connected to shore power.

I reset the Xantrex after unhooking from shore power and no fault. I hooled up shore power and the fault occured again.

Went through the same reset process after checking the connections in the cord, checking the house breaker and every fuse I could find. Now no fault, but I am still not gettingpower from shore.

So what next??

The tool box is in the van, and the manuals are going with us.

Is the power grounded? My Xantrex will not charge if there isn't a proper ground. Of course I don't get a fault.

Could be the power has reversed power or reversed ground and neutral.

THis turned out to be the fact that I was plugging in to 15a GFI outlets, and the Xantrex was being sensitive. I am plugged into the same outlet now and have had no issues for 24 hours.

...wheeeeww...
