Special Edition sPOD

I was just surfing around and happened to see this new product on the sPOD website. It is a touch screen switch panel. In the write up it it is an 8 circuit system. I won't list all the specs but here is the link. http://www.4x4spod.com/product_p/8-700-ts-uni.htm

It's pricy at $750 but has some interesting features. You can Daisy chain the box and control up to 32 circuits. Imagine having all those controlled by a little 3-3/4" x 2-7/8" box! . Now imagine trying to find space for 32 rocker switches. Available Bluetooth (control your switches from 30ft away ). Creates a scalable platform for future optional enhancements such as Wi-Fi, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, special strobe interfaces, CAN-interior bus integration to head units, and ,any other future options.

I'm sure someone around here will want to add this to their van sometime soon.
Cheers
Darryl

The techno-geek in me likes it, but my toggle switches are 100% mechanical, and damn near 100% reliable.

Agreed---that's one gee whiz kinda device.

The cost is a bit much and in the end it would require even more wiring and relays in order to be truly effective especially for those who could or would utilize the full capacity if its switching scheme.

Nice piece though.

Yes, I'd agree that you should think long and hard about going touchscreen. As an owner of a mid-2000s Prius, I've learned to really hate having to go through onscreen menus to control my stuff. I can grab a physical button by habit and feel without taking my eyes off the road. Not so with my Prius.

And controlling anything by radio (wifi or bluetooth), I predict you'll find that it works "most" of the time. And fails when you need it most, or at least adds plenty of frustration to your adventure "vacation".
