Speed Sensor Wire Location (VSS?)

I just got a new head unit for my SMB, it has wires that need to be tapped for the Parking Brake, Reverse Lights, and Speed Sensor.

With the help of the forum i found the Parking Brake and Reverse lights and tapped those.

But I have no clue where the Speed sensor is, or what color it would be. The internet has not been as helpful either.

2003 Ford E350 for reference.

Anyone here found this wire in an older E350?

If your van has the PTO blunt-cut wires, VSS is one of those wires. This is post-PCM, so you won't have to worry about interference. The PTO blunt-cut wires are tucked into the windshield cowling wire loom, approximately above the brake booster or behind/above the coolant bottle. Near these wire you should also find a 4-pin round connector. This is a pass-through into the cab, where you can connect to a square connector at the other end near the steering column. Ford sells pigtails called aftermarket up-fitter connectors.

See page 9 here:

This is for the current model, however all E-series are similar.

Carringb, i hate you and love you.

That PDF was super helpful. Apparently some one was kind enough to pull out a few of the blunt ends. So i went digging in the loom to find the rest. No dice. But i did find the correct colored wire from the PDF (Violet/Orange), so I just tapped that in the loom.

Now the hate you part. Rewrapping the loom was a pain in the butt. But i ghetto wrapped it the best i could.

So speed line tapped, maybe.

The radio was actually DOA so crutchfield is sending me a new one, so not sure if i got the right line yet lol.
