Star Cool

I have a neighbor who owns a 2005 E350 EB50....with star cool rear AC... when he turns the knob on, nothing happens. He doesn’t have any marked fuses for that and was wondering what/where the fuse might be or what the issue could be. Any ideas I can pass on to him?

Some good threads already on the forum. Could be a number if things. Easiest to check is the small circuit breaker that’s with all the 12v Starcool wiring, usually under a bench seat/gaucho.

His starcool pages are missing from his book and mine shows a (I believe) 20 amp... on that circuit breaker.. mine is there but his isn’t... mine is also 4 years older.

There should be an totally separate fuse block, with relays and the circuit breaker, just for the Starcool. Gotta find that first before doing any other troubleshooting as that's the first place to start.

follow the link in this post, it should have a link to a StarcoolIII.PDF it also has the newer Danhard.PDF also.

Make sure that you both actually have starcool, not just one being a rear AC. They are different animals. If it is starcoolIII the first thing I would check if the blower switch isn't working is the enable switch that is usually over the left shoulder of the driver. This is typically reachable while driving. If this switch is not on, the starcool III blower switch won't work. The documentation shows the relay panel for the starcool, it also shows the fuses. Before the fuse block is a reset-able breaker.
