That is so wrong. I'd give the service manager a call and explain the situation. There should be some "efficiencies" to be found in performing multiple, related services.

Yes, I found the same thing when the heater hose popped off. Figured while they are in there it would be the perfect time to replace the fuel filter....nope, they charged me a flat rate even though they had everything all apart.

My next service call, I guess I have to explain to them I want each aspect of the service performed separately so I get what I'm paying for. Maybe then they'll be willing to negotiate a package deal.
