Taillight Search

I want to source the tail lights on this ambulance. It's an F450 manufactured by Horton. I'm only interested in the bottom row, and specifically the outside most lamps (Stop Lamps). Anyone know where I can get this size lights with the gasket?

Re: Taillight Search

Wow! Those are HUGE. I wanted to put them vertically and was checking how they would look- to scale in a rough sense, they are as tall as the bumper (at least the outside of the grommet) and nearly as big as the Aluminess light holes (but yet not big enough to actually use in the holes.

Since this is rough and doesn't account for the bumper angle I'm going to print a scale lamp and grommet in paper and go test fit..

Re: Taillight Search

That's pretty much correct. Installing wouldn't leave very much metal regardless of which direction:

The metal at the lower left corner of the Aluminess hole is already bent (looks like a white smudge), so weakening the bumper further is not a good idea IMHO.

And I don't care much for how the size looks anyway:

Re: Taillight Search

Yep I agree. I think a custom cut like three 1" diagonal slashes with lights installed behind the bumper would look cool but I'm still wanting to do like I posted to BW and that is to find a thin strip light that might mount above or below the backup lights. I've seen em on the back of choppers over the License Plate.

Re: Taillight Search

I'm just going to try and find a red lens to replace the clear rectangular clear lens on the hella lights in the bumper and wire those to my brakes. I have other lights I'm mounting on the roof for backing up in the dark.
at least i think that what im going to do.
