If it's hidden from plain view it's probably an alarm bypass- you have to hold the switch and turn the key in the ignition to bypass the alarm without a key fab.
Alarm bypass or valet switch. I recommend giving Rob Radonovich a call or shoot him an e-mail to be sure what you have. I have a two position toggle switch that acts as a valet switch. PM me if you need his e-mail address.

According to my alarm instructions the valet is the same as the bypass (Avatal or something). Your alarm instructions should tell you what it is- either way part of the alarm system.
Thanks, guys. Yeah, I know Rob. Sold me a helluva system. Randy, at SMB (tho he actually works for Rob), spent an hour showing me the audio/nav ssystem, before the vehicle lecture itself started. By that time, I was brain dead. I still can't figure how to turn off the Kenwood. There's no off switch!
Here's another image of the rig on top of Mazourka Peak, in the Inyo Moiuntains of eastern CA.

We had the same problem with the Kenwood system in our SMB. You need to experiment with the remote before you can figure out how to turn the dang thing off. I can't describe it, since I haven't turned in on in a couple of weeks.
They really need to skip all the bells and whistles with these sound systems and just have a real on and off button!
