Van Charging house battery

I am trying to figure out if all is ok with the van charging the house battery.
With nothing on in the house or van, the house battery sits at 12.6/7 or so. Just fine. When I am idling the van, it still stays at about the same voltage, like its not getting charged. While driving the voltage reads 13.5+. I am trying to figure out if that is ok or normal. Worrying over nothing? I am a very electrical novice.

Thanks
Andrew

It would be good to know more about your rig, specifically what is the mechanism that you use to connect, disconnect, isolate, combine the battery banks.
