I insisted as having a roof vent and still having the warranty as a condition for the sale. He came up with this little 6 inch fan/vent that works great. It doesn't look like much but it works almost as good as the big vents. I've attached a picture.

Check with SMB to see if they've have to do the install to keep the warranty intact.

Since I have a homebuilt, there is no warranty involved.

Do you know the brand on that?

JC Whitney has a 6" fan that goes through the roof:

I bought one and it looks ok. But I decided to stick with my Fantastic Vent standalone fan.

Paul at SMB-Tx told me in October that with the new roof molds (flat surface rather than ridges) they will now install a Fantastic Fan in a penthouse.

So, I ended up ordering a Fantastic Vent, but with a low profile top, non-domed, and what the guy called a "flat motor."

I'm going to mount this in one of my rear windows. I'll custom fab it so that it looks good.

When I do, and it may be a few weeks, I'll post photos.

I found this installation quite intriguing, but ended up having a fan installed in the roof (same low-profile fan you've purchased) when I had the electrical work done.

Yeah, I still don't like the way that looks and could end up going the roof route.

I almost wish I had gotten that 6" round fan. Anyway, we shall see.
