What are these wires for in engine compartment?

Anyone know what these two sets of wires in the engine compartment are for? The first is a wiring connector that is blank-capped (#1 in photo). The other set (#2 in photo) has individual, blunt-cut/capped wires -- these are not the ones for the Upfitter Switches, although they are in the same bundle. This is from a 2011 E250.

The blunt-cut wires are for PTO operation. The connector is your pass-through wires to the inside of the cab.

do you have one of those bulletins for a '02 7.3 e series you can share?
There are set of the blunt wires w various labels including "4x4" on a harness in the engine compartment. I have often wondered what they are for or how they counts be utilized.

Thxs.
