Im at a loss for words here. Not to make you feel bad, but why would you create an account on a van forum to ask its members how to repair some random obscure electronic item you purchased on ebay?
Why not just throw it away and buy another one at $2.48? Its going to cost that much to repair the broken one anyway. Just a thought.
I don't think it's broken...it's a burglar alarm....it's supposed to be loud.
I have the solution. It involves removing item and throwing it as far away from you as possible, preferrably over a cliff or in to some water.
If you need a device to help keep your fridge closed they make latches/pins specifically for that.
If you need help remembering to actually close it then you may need more help than just that. I do not think the systems of a camper van/rv are going to go well for you.
Sidenote, I just discovered this weekend that my Dometic CFX has an interesting feature. Apparently if you leave the cover open too long, the compartment light starts flashing to alert you. Worked, too--my wife got distracted while putting things in the fridge, and I saw the flashing light in my peripheral vision.
