Sdwindansea, check out page 3 of this post for good pictures of just what you're looking for:

Thanks, I actually found this after I posted and ordered a set of component speakers. I should be able to get them installed this weekend or next. I'll do another "write up" of some of the specifics.

Re: Wild Sound System

I got my component speakers installed and I couldn't be happier. This ended up being an inexpensive project (~$110) that makes a huge difference in sound quality.

I went with the Kicker DS68.2 component speakers (only did the front pair). I also purchased some foam baffles (cut out the bottoms) and a Ford wiring harness adapter to simplify things. The speakers are hooked up a Kenwood head unit, no amplifier.

Geoff, thanks for the advice in your previous post. I used the driver side to determine the mounting position as the dashboard sits higher on this side of the van. Overall it was an easy project. I lucked out and didn't need to drill out any metal for the flush mount of the tweeters. I did have to modify the black panel a little bit by cutting out some plastic that was in the way of the mounting rings. I set the crossovers to 0db. I tried it out at 3db, but it sounds better to me at 0db.

I initially tried to intall a 6 1/2" component system but the woofers were not going to fit unless I did some metal trimming where they would be mounted. I didn't want to go through this so I returned them and used the 6x8" instead.

Here are some post install pictures.
