Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster Review...

Picked up the 4G version from them about a month ago and it works great? I've taken three offroad or low coverage trips this last month and it's done it's job. Several spots I have only have had one bar in the past and now have 3-4 in those areas.

Highly recommend it....

Does it cover 2 & 3G networks? Mine won't and every place I go there is no 4G

Re: Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster Review...

I second the recommendation... I got my 4g cell booster from Wilson Electronics when they first became available, I think 2-3 months ago. It does work great!

Dave, it does 2,3 and 4g. Here is the link below to it on its website.

Re: Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster Review...

I have one in my Sporty and one in the house, specifically for the basement which went from very unreliable to 4-5 bars and rock solid. Both work great.

Note that they have automatic gain control (required by the carriers), so if signal is 2-3 bars it probably won't improve. But when signal gets low enough to become a problem they kick in and bring it.

The Wilson page says it allows multiple users. I've been looking at these antennas for some time but never took the plunge because I understood you had to keep your phone(s) next to the amplifier. Was that your experience? Did you use it with more than one device? How far way from the amplifier could you use your phone?

I had the same concern -- I wasn't interested in one of those 'cradle' solutions or something where a single boosted phone has to be held within a foot or so of the interior antenna.

I have the newest RV version with the springloaded roof antenna. Good signal coverage throughout the van with that setup, multiple users, etc, as far as I've been able to tell.

As I understand it the 'standard' car version does require your phone to be close to the internal antenna. But it looks to me like the "RV/Truck" outside antenna is the only difference between the RV kit and the standard car kit. So it seems like the better outside antenna is what gives the system overall better interior coverage (officially within a 6 foot radius of the interior antenna IIRC, which pretty much covers the whole van if you place the interior antenna somewhat centrally).

Re: Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster Review...

Just looked at the Wilson site and it looks like they are not selling it as an "RV kit" anymore; apparently you just buy the car kit and the truck/RV antenna separately. But you might want to call to clarify.

Re: Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster Review...

Stumbled on the link to the kit I ordered in an email. Apparently they are backordered, which is probably why I didn't see it on the site without the super secret link:
